- the formation of a trade union – the existence of multiple trade unions in the employer
- interaction and obligations of the employer towards the trade union – information, consultation, consent, agreement
- the initiation and conduct of collective bargaining, including what happens if the parties simply do not agree
- creating the conditions for the proper exercise of trade union activities
